The Department of Economics, Government College Nedumangad came to existence in the year 1981. Ever since its inception the department has been in the forefront in organising novel programmes aimed at popularising the subject matter of Economics among the general public. The department occupies a prominent place in the minds of local population as its the first source to quench their thirst for higher education in Economics. The Department is very vibrant and active department with young and qualified teachers and uses advanced technology for teaching and learning.  The department could proudly be a part of the academic success of the college by attaining very good result and also involving in various extracurricular activities that assist the students to move forward in their future life. Apart from subject matter of Economics, our students are trained in career management, skill development, social science research and various extension activities that are beneficial to the society.
