The Department of Computer Science was established in 2005 with the introduction of the B.Sc. Physics and Computer Applications programme, offering Computer Science as a vocational subject. Since its inception, the department has been committed to providing quality education and fostering academic excellence in the field of Computer Science.
The department is equipped with a well-furnished computer laboratory comprising 30 computer systems, supported by a 10 KVA UPS and campus-wide Wi-Fi connectivity. It also maintains a departmental library with a collection of more than 250 textbooks and reference materials to support the academic and research needs of students and faculty.
Over the years, the department has actively engaged in academic enrichment and skill development initiatives. It successfully conducted a UGC-sponsored Career-Oriented Add-on Course on Information Technology Professional, aimed at enhancing the employability and technical competencies of students. The department has also organized two UGC-sponsored National Conferences, providing a platform for academicians, researchers, and students to share knowledge and discuss emerging trends in Computer Science and Information Technology.
With a focus on academic excellence, innovation, and holistic development, the department continues to strive towards creating a dynamic learning environment that prepares students for higher education, research, and professional careers in the rapidly evolving field of computing.
